Still attempting to draw an alien

It would depend on how much time you have.

I wouldnt bother with a boundary blend but stick with style.

You can use a datum curve to drive your overall shape but use isdx to build the surfaces. In WF the surfaces within isdx can be tweaked in real time so you dont waste time regenerating.

The other big advantage of isdx is that you can import a jpg and use tracesketch as an underlay.

Do you have any other views/ angles?

If you have other views I could drop them in isdx and show you how to get started. You would have to be using wildfire though.

It wouldnt take long to get the overall shape but you could spend the rest of your life tweaking it.

It is but you can redefine the curves within the feature with more control.

If you use an actual boundary surf you have to build separate datum curves and it uses different math. The surfaces made within isdx should be better than what you would get using a boundary blend. Its also much faster.

Actually the basic premise of the style feature and the boundary surface are the same - drape a surface over a set of curves.

The main difference is that style features are free form (ie don't need to use dimensions).

Free form manipulation is by dragging soft points on the curves, shame that style surfaces are not free form (like in Rhino) - may be different in misfire..

It's a fun feature and good for cosmetic models and features - especially good for dolls and space aliens..
