I recently installed broadband with a modem connected in USB port. Now, when proe start said that can't read ethernet address. The ethernet card work correctly (I put ipconfig and appears the ethernet number). I don't know I can do
I run perfect the proe before I installed broadband. I usinglocal license. When I run PTC's cpuid said that can't read ethernet address. The version of proe is Wildfire 2.0 and the SO is XP.
In here you may find more than one folder with values in it. Simply change the value of the folder containing details of the network card that Pro/E is looking for to one with a lower value than all the other folders (you might need to rename folder (if there is one) '0' to something else first.
I have come across this problem many times on laptops with wirelness network cards installed (ptchost id changing depending on whether a netowrk card is in use).
While on this topic I have a quick question, WF3 xp, flexnet installed and says licence is ok but it can't verify ip address. Is this due to the fact its disconnected from a network or do you think its the 2 cards causing the problem. Based on id from pro e cd all should be ok.
Type ipconfig/all and see how many Ethernet physical addresses are returned. Then type 'ptchostid' to see which address Pro/E is looking to for its license. Change in the registry as I have also explained if the cards are in the wrong order.
Had a problem with MathCAD not reading the license that worked fine for Pro/e. Turns out that the hostid defaulted to a firewire device. Used regedit to local and rename files, reconfigured a new license, and everything works fine now.
