Youngs modulus of 304SST ?????

hi ,

I am doing a structural analysis on a rod made of 304SST. Can any one please tell me the youngs modulus and densityof that material.

what does SST stand for. what is the difference between SS420 and 304SST.

I will be very happy if anyone can help me out.

Thanks in advance.

In general Stainless Steel is 27.5 MPSI or 190 GPa (Young/Elasticity) and .28 lb/in3 or 7700 kg/m3.

The difference between alloys would usually be negligible.

Hi Scottm,

Thanks.

So can we suggest to any on of them , when we consider the mechanical properties??

And can u suggest a good source where i can get details about mechanical properties of metals.

THnaks
