I figured people might want to poll other users on various Pro/E related topics. We'll see how this goes.

It's not set up that way. It would have to be coded in which would take some time. Not sure if I want to invest the time into that...

just an example some peoples ideas might hold more sway than others. ie
most people would prefer to listen to Israr than someone who has
never posted before. Not saying that just because someone hasnt posted
that there ideas are not valid.

anyway maybe we can have poll if it could keep a track of voters. :)

Maybe there should be two types af polls: that keeps a track of voters and that doesn't keep? Or maybe it should be the ability to vote as anonymous.

I think, not all of us wants to vote openly.

I like the idea from Blaze if I understand it correctly.

When you cast you rvote in a poll have the option to keep your name
private. It might save feelings and keep high tempers down.

Most voting is anomynous, it keeps people from getting intimidated. I participate in lots of forums that have polls, they are all anomynous.

I think voting should be annon.. at the end of the day, if someone wants a reply from a specific member they can PM them ..

maybe a suggestion would be to be able to add a poll to ANY post, say in the modeling forum, or Drawing forum.. and let the poster decide if they want to allow replies or not

just a suggestion..

but it shoud be brought in in it's present state if that's only way possible!

I, too, think that the polls should be anonymous. If someone wants to
comment or voice their opinion, they can always add a post to the poll.

I can set up the forum to allow polls in any forum. You would
have to start a new poll as opposed to adding a poll to an already
existing thread. I thought about that option, but thought that
the users could keep track of the polls better if they were in one
place.

maybe there is a way to "mirror" the polls? I think one of othe downfalls od havng too many sections is that people only look at the "modelling" forum, or the "drawing" forum.. I think that important imformation could be lost (or maybe a better way of putting it would be it wouldn't be found)if it's all in one "polls" section..

just my $0.02

well I dont think that would really matter to be honest.. bt uI suppose if it was critical, maybe the administrator could add a "lock Topic" or "Lock Poll"button.. I thin usually in polls the more people that answer and the longer they run for the more accurate they are..

I could lock the poll depending on the question.

Enough of this, though, start polling!

I like the idea Jason...I envision it being very useful and informative.

If someone wants to have their name associated with their vote, fine.

If not, they should have the option to cast it as anonymous.

I think duration should be 1 week.

I didn't see an introduction thread or a suggestions thread. Where would these threads go if they were to be started?
