While mucking around doing some RF cabling (don'town Routed Systems) I wondered if there was a way of modelling bent round cables that could be unbent using sheetmetal functionality as opposed to modelling a straight pipeand using spinal bend to fold it up. I found I could.
To make it more of a challenge I tried to make it hollow so I could unbend a pipe bent in 3 dimensions.Quite abit harder but yes it can be done.
This is the bent pipe with the unbend feature supressed

This is the straight pipe with the unbend feature resumed.

I have shown the model tree as a really bighint of how I did it but you have to know how tofool Pro/E to be able to shell the sheetmetal part to complete this challenge.
Anyone elsefound a way of doing this??
Will post the model once you have had a chance to tear your hair out
