Toolpath Question

A little Backround: I am currently working on a mold of a mouse. It will be machined out of wax.

Now my main question is which scan_type would be best for this type of machining that will give me the smoothest cavity? I think the default is type 3.

A second question is, where can I find an explanination of all of the different scan_types?

Thank you very much for your help.

it sounds like you intend on using a single cut strategy. why not try a rough and finish type strategy? much better results that way.

my 0.02.

Scan Type 1: Tool will retract when encountering an island.

Scan Type 2: Tool will go around an island.

Scan type 3: Toolpath is created zone by zone.

Type Spiral: Will start in "center", then spirals it's way to the outside. Cutter take a 90
