the file std.err in working directory

Does anyone know why the file std.err is created in my working directory? In this file the content is "RAISING SIGNAL : Signal number : 11". I don't know what's the error.

This is what I found on PTC's site.

Creating a curve with "use xhatch" and the xhatch is shown, Pro/ENGINEER exits prematurely and creates file sys.err with RAISING SIGNAL: Signal Number 11.

Description
-----------------
Creating a curve with "use xhatch" and the xhatch is shown, Pro/ENGINEER exits prematurely and creates file sys.err with RAISING SIGNAL: Signal Number 11.

Alternate Technique
-----------------

Do not create the curve, while in the xhatch menu. First finish the xhatch menu, then create the curve with
use xhatch.

Resolution
-----------------

This issue will be resolved in a future release of Pro/ENGINEER.

Generally Signal Number 11 errors are at such a low level of code interaction with teh OS that there is nothing thatthe software vendorcan do to improve the error message. If enough people report a common sequence of operations that causes the error message, then there is a slight chance that a real error message can be created from the trapped call.

Simonshuai,

This error has beengoing on in proe forever. It used to kick you out "instant" program gonefor me the most in 2001. When we went to wildfire on xp pro it reduced a lot. Back in the day you could count on being kicked out at least once a day. This error has been quessed at by ptc and has never been locked down. If you call ptc tech support thay might give you a reason that this happins. Every once in a while you can make it repeat itself. With xp and wildfire sometimes it also gives you a windows error you can report. Raising signal 11 happins for lots of reasons that ptc can not explain. I have heard people say that this is because the base of proe was not built for windows? Either way I don't think they will ever solve this issue.
