Switching CYCLE type - possible??

New member
I meant to ask this for a long time now, but always forget...

Anyway, is is possible to change HOLEMAKING Sequence type from e.g. Standard to Deep? Or vice-versa?

I'm working on an older MFG Assy. that needs to be updated to our current tools and methods, and there's significant number of various holes that I DON'T want to re-do completely...

Any advice will be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

ps.: GO CANUCS, GO! (I hope nobody from Anaheim reads this

Marker4x4,

One solution would be to edit the .NCL file with the changed cycle types, keeping in mind that the edited CL record cycle parameters must be correct and that re-running the pro/e system will destroy your edits. I would save a copy.

Keep in mind if you go from DRILL to DEEP you may have to add parameters in the CL record, etc

This is a cheap and dirty way.

Good luck,

Well yes, that's what we end up doing (I should've mentioned that); except we edit the tape not .NCL. Same thing, different name I suppose.
I was just hoping (will I ever learn

Thanks !

Marker4x4,

I think editing the CL file makes more sense, especially if you do a lot of avoids between holes and you would only have to edit the data once per operation.

True.

Marker,

Have you went to utilities and did a redefine? I do this all the time and it will let you change hole type? I try my best to not edit CL.

Thanks Cncwhiz you've made my day, despite miserable weather and Canucs' despicable loss yesterday. BTW, any ice hockey fans in here?
