Standard planes on Feature Tree

New member
Hi All.

When I open a new part file in ProE I get the planes in
the feature tree so I can select them, however in a file
received from one of our manufacturers the planes are not
in the feature tree. how can I make them appear?

I always work with SolidWorks but I have no experience in
ProE.

Thanks

is it a imported geometry? if so the planes could be missing. If thats the problem just put the "inserthere" arrow above the imported feature ( and below the c-sys )and hit the create datumplane icon and you will have 3 standardplanes)

You can create a new part with the datum planes then import the file. Or you can use the geometry in the import file to construct datum planes. See my reply to your other post about creating template parts and setting Pro/E to use them before importing geometry to make this happen automatically.

OK. How do you put the "insert there" arrow at that
position?

You drag it by picking it and holdningyour lmb while moving it upwards.

edit/ component operations/ insert mode and pick the imported geometry.then make a datum plane, all three will be made at once.
