Splitting a cable into a "Y"

I want to route a cable, but at some point I want it to branch into a Y. Is there any way of doing this and still keeping the same cable number? I found Split Cable under the Mod Cable menu, but that just split the cables into two separate cables. Anybody have any ideas on how to accomplish this?

create the cable and route it to one end of the Y termination, then finish routing the cable by going back into the route menu, select the initial routing of the wire as the wire to be routed (this lets you continue routing the same cable/wire feature without making it a continuous piece), and then as your starting point choose the location (green dot) where you want the Y to be and route from that point the other half of the Y to its termination.
