spherical rod end assembly mechanism

hi guys i posted this on a different forum with no response, maybe someone here can help me...

I have drawn a basic spherical rod end (2 pieces). When I attempt to assemble the sphere into the housing I use a ball connection. This allows me to rotate the ball 360

I would but I am working with a student version of proE as I am still in school. I can't open files from a commercial version and I would suspect that it works both ways.

When I get home from work I will try to send it or let me know if there is another way

sorry about all of the extra datums and axis, I kept adding things trying other connections and such to make it work... Im just stumped lol

From what I can tell there doesn't appear to be a wayto limit the ball mechanism connectionthe way you want. I was able to simulate it using constraints. I created a revolved surface that represents the range of motion the edge of the ball would have. I then created four points along the edge of the ball. I aligned the center points of the ball and eye and constrained the points to the revolved surface. You can drag the ball and it will move in the manner you want although it may be somewhat difficult to control the motion.
