Hello
I'm trying to source a small model/proto milling machine that i can link with ProE Complete Machining to produce/prototype a number of simple to complex parts.
I'm wondering whether anybody knows of or has used such an item?...or whether such an item actually exists
Our requirements (loosely) are:
<ul>[*]machinable envelope of no less than 1200mm x 700mm x 200mm (can be a lot more)[*]We will mostly be machining model board and milling prototypes from sheet plastic
[*]We will also want to machine/face/drill soft metal (Aluminium). We won't be doing loads of material removal sequences. Its more likely be adding a feature to a peice of stock material[*]If a laithe could be added to the bed, then all the better[*]No less than full 3 axis interpolation. Ideally we'd like full 5 axis + 1 axis[*]A machine build quality between model milling and low batch production
So far i've looked at:
<ul>[*]Roland ModelAPro MDX-540A - Only 3+1Axis, small bed size, more of a model making making machine[*]Flatcom 1/50 - Again 3+1 Axis, bigger bed size and bit more robust (http://www.unimatic.co.uk/Industry/flatcom.asp#applications )
I guess something like the German Flatcom would be ideal but with full 5+1 Axis and maybe a slightly more robust. There website says they have 5 axis capability but after chatting with their sales team this is 3+2 Axis.
Any help advice would be greatly appreciated. Maybe such a machine doesn't exist
Thanks in advance for any responses!
Ben
