shaft keyway

hey hello 2 everyone....
i m using pro-e 3 for my project purpose..

pls tell me how to create keyways on step shafts...

First create a datum plane tangent to the cylindrical surface. Then use extrude cut feature from that datum plane to create key seat (key ways are produced in hubs and not on shafts). In any case if you give a snap shot of the reference drawing it would be helpful to explain in detail.

You can also create the datum plane as shown. This would ensure that your driving dimensions are the same as the inspection dimensions.
