YOU could edit your part while still in assembly mode for what I assume would be a permanent change to the part. If you want to maintain the original geometry and still use a scaled part then go back to the part file and create another configuration of the part ,,,,,then scale to your hearts desire.
Control-Q rebuild and save.
Then all you would have to do is right click on your part in the assembly and change your configuration.
The only reason I was asking is that I am making a 1/16 scale model of the USS Zellars DD-777. The watertight doors have a clear opening of 26"x66". So I was thinking I could draw the door full size and then scale it down in my assembly.
But I ended up just making the door 1/16 scale by scaling down the dimensions.
