repeat region problem

hi guys,


i was playing around wiht my WF2 trying to create BOM. i follow the instrucitons here [url]http://www.proengineertips.com/drawing/tutorial-create-bom-t able-in-pro-e-detailing.html[/url]...However my rpt.qty and asm.mbr.description DOES NOTshow up.ONLY my asm.mbr.name and rpt.index show up. Anyone know what am i doing wrong?


my other problem is that... for example, i have am assembly nad i have a part in my assembly that have 10 quantities. instead of showing like this

Regarding your second question. Obviously you have assembly features that change individual part's mass. On the drawing, mass properties are calculated on the assembly level. In those cases, Pro/E splits BOM indexes and shows them as you specified in the example above. The solution is to open the part, perform mass properties calculation, regenerate and then comment mass properties relation (e.g. mass = pro_mp_mass("")). This way you Pro/E will calculate mass properties on assembly level but will not calculate mass properties of the parts, thus it will show QTY of the part x as "4".

But you must be aware, that mass properties of the parts will not be correct, since you have assembly features that possibly reduce it on the individual part level.

well this is not what i'm looking for, but it's a good information that i can learn from you... thanks for helping. However, do u know what i did wrong?? i'm trying to show the Quantity by using the RPT.QTY and also show the description (asm.mbr.description)... is the description a user defined function??

From top menu bar:
Table--> repeat region
Then Attributes, it will ask you to select your repeat region.

select "no duplicates"

Done.

Hi Tobyk,


Im having trouble showing the quantity of my assembly...i tried using RPT.QTY, but it doesn't work...
My assembly looks like the following
General_assembly.asm
1) tray_mfg.asm
2) mold_base.asm
3) runner_plate.prt
4) g-rail_left.prt

It might be faster to figure this out if you post your table file.

Save your table as a table file (.tbl) Table-->save Table-->As Table file.

Alivin164,

Your table only has a single repeat region. you need to add the second (nested) repeat region inside the first.

Go to
Table--> Repeat region-->switch symbols

You'll now see a green outline of the repeat region.
If you have added a nest repeat region then you'll see second green outline inside your first.

So to fix your table:
Click Add
Click on the leftmost cell of the second row and then the rightmost cell of the second row

Then you should see the second outline:

Then change the attributes to the second repeat region to no duplicates,flat, and set min repeats to 0. The min repeats step gets rid of empty cells, by default it is set to 1. Try switching it back and forth to see its effect.
And click on the switch symbols to switch away from the report symbols so that your part and assembly names show up again.

That should give you what you're looking for.
