I have imported an assembly as a part file from the internet, now on the drawing this part is showing transparent and has purple lines. How do I make this look solid? on the drawing?
Your import came in as surfaces only, no solid geometry. If you're lucky, you can select the quilt (in part mode) and select insert -> solidify to turn it into a solid. More likely is that the surface has holes, which you'll need to find and patch first.
Change the view parameters to not show hidden lines for quilts. This is in the properties, view display options category. There is a Yes or No option, click Yes.
This is a big cheat but... when in drawing go: view->display settings->system colors. In the window pick the geometry tab and change both quilt edge inner and outer color to geometry and the part will look like what you want.
