This is probably a really simple thing but I can't for the life of me see how to do it! I have a curved surface on a solid body, not cylindrical or conical: more lilke a surface curved in one plane while slightly twisting along the long axis, it's the side panel of a small boat. I need to project the curved surface onto a tangent plane to get the true developed shape of the panel. What's the best way to do this? It should be easy but is not apparent.
