Problem flatten part

In a roll like that, i will give myself a small flat edge of flat spot so Pro/SHEETMETAL knows what to remain flat too when making the flat pattern.

I wonder if there is another solution but i doubt it.

Unless I'm mistaken ...
Either a planar part face or a straight part edge is
required as a flat pattern orientation reference. Where
neither exists the straight edge is probably easier to
create and the less objectionable compromise* of,
presumably, an otherwise valid design intent.

Legacy, I didn't bother to download your (what version?)
part. If it's not WF2 readable, you didn't find a ready
solution and would like me to take a gander, post a neutral.

* I view this as a shortcoming in the sheetmetal module. A
datum point is all that's required to 'anchor' a flattened
quilt. I doubt there's a technical reason the same couldn't
be done for a sheetmetal flat pattern if there was enough
demand to make it worthwhile.

Yes, there's a flat surface/edge that I used as fixed geometry but the rads just won't unbend.

This is a wildfire 3 model. Here's a step file of the sketch. Please see if you can unbend it.

Legacy,

If the attached pic indicates what you're trying to do
(and assuming you know what you're doing; e.g. it's not
a simple procedural problem) I'm going to guess that a
combination of part accuracy and extrusion length /
thickness is the problem. I'd change part accuracy to
.01 mm absolute and try again (or, maybe, just try to
approx. duplicate the pic to rule out other possibles).

If that's not it (Bart's "In a roll like that" has me
wondering if I'm singing off the wrong page), holler back.

Legacy,

Have a look at the attached part and see if it's close enough to what you're looking for. Initially I could only get it to unbend when the angle was decreased from 353degrees to 180degrees with a small flat section at the end of the section.

I have added the flat section to the middle of the part. It's only 0.01mm wide so it's neglible. It does unfold though the flat pattern it gives and what you would actually use in real life I think may be very different.

Thanks. It's sufficient enough for what I need it for.
