Pro/motion hard stops

I have a fairly complex linkage in which one of the links has hard postion stops relative to ground. What I need is a way to model the stops.

Ideally, a slot-follower in which the follower becomes a pin joint at the ends of the slot is what I am looking for, but this approach throws errors.

Any ideas?

hello

I had a problem in the past, assigning limits to a gear connection mechanism.

Mr. Jason Turk gave me the solution, below is the answer as I got it before, see if it has something interesting for you :

There is a video on how to simulate gears in Mechanism Design both on this website & on KinetiVision's website (same video). It's a freebie, courtesy of KinetiVision.

the video is named : SIMULATING GEARS IN MECHANISM.

hope this helps

There are a number of ways that you could do this. For instance you could use contact in Motion, or you could set up a spring and damper at the end of the travel, which could be non-linear, to represent a stop.

It depends on what your linkage is as to what it is best and easiest to do

Good luck
