I have a copy of aPro-E Wildfire 2.0 Tryout version that I received. I went and got a licence file and installedthe program with no problems. But, when I double click on the desktop icon nothing happens. Not aflicker or an error. It does put a "std.err" and "std.out" files into my documents folder.

I'd appericate the feedback

try to running it by double clicking on <installation dir>/bin/proe.exe

if it works create a short cut on your desktop, right click>properties. Give the path of your default working dir in Start in row.

All the best.

Thanks for the reply. I tried clicking on <installation dir>/bin/proe.exe file and still nothing happens.

This is very odd. I've installed Pro/E many times and I have never seen this problem before. I also tried re-installing the program.... same results?

Is there some kind of setting of the computer that I am missing?

What OS are you running on?

Do you have the CD in the drive? I believe the tryout version requires this.

You mentioned you were getting error files, but didn't list the contents of them...

My guess would be avideo card problem. Try creating a file called config.prowith the single line below and placing in in the <loadpoint>/text directory.

std.err and std.out are just plain text files, so use notepad to view them.

config.pro is also a plain text file that you can create with notepad and stick in the text directory of your Pro/E installation. Just make sure it has one line:

graphics win32_gdi

then try starting Pro/E.
