Pre drill a pocket

Has anyone found a good way to Pre-drill a pocket and have the tool plunge in the drilled hole and machine out from there?
 
Create an axis at the location you want to drill and plunge with the mill tool.

Use axis to locate drill.
Use axis to define approach.

The latter is under the customize options.
