I am trying to cut out a part from a 4mm thick sheet. The profile feature is removing all of the material from the part out, whereas, I just want to just cut out the part from the plate. Any pointers? Thanks.
I am trying to cut out the profile of the part via expert-machinist (I'm new to Pro/NC), but it is removing all of the material. This part is getting cut out of a 4mm thick sheet and it doesn't make sense in this context to remove all non-part sheet (unlike billet). If i'm interpreting the features correctly, it seems the profile is just an "inverse" thru-pocket....
I think I have what I need by using free-milling feature.
In expert create a profile feature of the walls. Then machine it. Or better yet switch into the ProNc mode using Applications Manufacturing and cut it using either profile ncsequence or trajectory, or vol ncsequencescan_type profile_only.
