pcf file help

HO-229

New member
Good Morning all,<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
Please forgive me is this sounds elementary, trying to wrap my mind around the sequence of events that must happen to add a plotter.
I have a HP1055CM (postscript 3 supported) plotter that I just added to my network.
Background/Things I believe to be true:
1) Set the load point for the new plotter/printer (loadpoint\text\plot_config)
2) Create a new pcf

When I visit the PCF file location I do not see text files that have the below format type and I am curious why I do not see something like the below example pulled from the WWW that I can tweak to fill my needs?

Trying to understand the basics of configuring this plotter and the correct roadmap to adding the plot device.
I believe I did a fairly comprehensive research but I am always nervous about adding/changing something without a clear understanding

Thanks in advance

Example:
plotter LASERJET4
button_name LASER-NAME
button_help LaserJet Location....
plot_drawing_format YES default
plot_segmented NO default
plot_roll_media YES default
plot_label NO default
plot_handshake software default
create_separate_files NO default
plot_with_panzoom NO default
rotate_plotting NO default
allow_file_naming YES
plot_name NO
interface_quality 3 default
plot_destination printer default
plotter_command windows_print_manager \\servername\printername
pen_table_file table.pnt
plot_sheets current default
paper_size A4 default

That looks OK. I didn't check every line. Here is what I have in our default.pcf for a Deskjet T2300

plotter postscript
button_name DJ-T2300
plot_drawing_format yes default
pen_table_file $PRO_DIRECTORY\..\..\..\solid\drw_files\postscript20.pnt
plot_access create
plotter_command windows_print_manager \\GVLPRINT\gvl_dj-t2300-ps3
plot_names yes
plotter_handshake software
plot_scale fit_paper default
paper_size_allowed Variable default
plot_sheets all default
delete_after_plotting yes
plot_destination printer default
plot_roll_media YES default
plot_handshake software default
interface_quality 3 default
rotate_plotting yes default

Dr gallup
The example pulled from the WWW and the examples you have posted seem to follow some form of logical descriptive definition that outline print/plot parameter definition.
When I open the existing PCF files they contain no such text data fields resembling the aforementioned examples
