patterning a timing belt tread around curve

If you are using WF then it must be no problem at all. Use fill pattern and select curve option.

BTW patterning on curve in 2001 is simple as well.

If still you have problem, mail me and I will send you the solution.

HERE IS ONE WAY. YOU WILL HAVE TO SETUP YOUR OWN TOOTH DIMENSIONS. THE RELATION USES THE PERIMETER DIMENSION FOR THE CURVE.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO SET UP A PART LIKE THIS, HOPE THIS HELPS.

In your relations, I see that D43 = 40 which is your perimeter, but your D55=D43/p56, I figure that is your spacing = perimeter/#of intervals. I'm making my own file so I can learn this feature, where do you find D55 and p56. thanks again

what i have done.

1) draw the datum curve (The path)

2) make a small section and sweep it to create the belt

3) try to make 1 tooth then pattern it around the curve.

any chance i can have a look @ that file?or someone give me tell me the steps to creating it?

Problem

in part file. the teeth section dont face radially inwards. but are arrayed around the curve.
