part visibilty

Can anyone tell me how to make a part invisble on a detail view but keep itvisible on the view that it has been taken from?

To start with create a circle or splineand a "SEE DETAIL A" note in the parent view to repleace the current call out. Next change the detail view to a general view. Then replade the "DETAIL A" note. If the detail is from a section view, you will need to erase the new "SECTION A-A" note.

Got that, how do i switch the parts off on my 'detailed ' view but keep them visible in the main view though?

Open the drawing and use the pull down menu:


View, Drawing Display, Component Display. From here use: Blank, Picked View, then select the component that you wish to remove. (Use Query Select to grab the part or sub-assembly)
