opening pro/e sends the CPU to 100%

I have a problem with pro/e 2001, when I open it up, the CPU goes to 100% and will not come down, I must reboot becaue it is too slow. even when I shut down pro/e the CPU is 100% and other programs are slow. I have a fast machine and graphics card. I have a locked license on my computer. Any suggestions????

We had that problem about a year ago, turned out to be a bad video card. Card worked well for most other apllications, but as soon as Pro was fired up it soaked up cpu power. I think that a Promise card also caused some conflicts with Pro back then also. Hope this helps...
