Is there a file format that pro/E can import which maintains feature level information? short answer is no. The long answer is AP224 which is a STEP standard and is a file format that holds all the information like features, dimensions, tolerances, notes, etc... The bad news is Pro/E does not import this file format. There is a product that uses Pro/E to create AP224 files, its called STEPTrans. GibbsCAM has taken some steps forward and has done some work with importing AP224 for NC coding but other then that, AP224 is still waiting to be adopted by major CAD CAM companies. Until then, your sh*# out of luck.
solidworks came out with one back before PTC was hip to that. circa 1998 Then PTC would change the code significantly with each new release so SW programmers could not keep up. one example I guess where capitalism and consumersizm keeps the competition down.
