model outline

is there a setting which will make the outline of ur model be a
different colour than the model? this is all for when a model is is
solid view.

i found

->view->model display->shade->"with edges" which
seems to give a good contrast which appears to highlight edges more.
but is there a way to say set it to black? or any other specific colour?

i was wondering what made iv9 and solidworks look a little nicer in the
modeling window. and i think this is a major factor, As it makes edges
easier to see.

After you turn on the shaded edges, select View > Display Settings> System Colors and set Geometry to Black. Then, select Tools > Environment and uncheck the Color setting. Then, select View > Display Settings > Model Display > Edge/Line and check Smooth Lines to improve the quality of the edges. This is changed permanently in cofig.pro by setting&nbsp ;&nbsp ;&nbsp ;&nbsp ; color yes/no, system_geometry_color 0-0-0,show_shaded_edges& nbsp; yes/no
