Mirroring complete geometry

Hi all,

I would like to mirror the complete geometry of a part. I have selected the part.prt from model tree and edit--> mirror. I have selected the one of the standard datum planes. Up to here everything is ok, furthermore I can see the preview of the mirror but when I finish the feature, a failure occurs:

"Part cannot be intersected with the feature."

What could be the possbile reason? Any idea will be appreciated. Thanks.

can you upload the part?

Is the part selfintersecting somewhere when it is mirrored?

unfortunately I cannot upload due to confidentiality.
I am sure that it is not selfintersecting when it is mirrored. I know that it is difficult to find the problem without seeing the part

anyway, thanks...

i see.

Try to search for geom checks, and try to minimize the number of them , if you got any... might help?

I have found the problem. One of the surfaces that is parallel to mirror plane was created by 4 curve boundary blend. I have deleted this feature and made it "fill". That solved the problem. I think it is problemmatical to have a freeform surface when mirroring parts.

Thanks Tobias for the suggestions.
