DID U START UR FILE WITH TEMPLATE?? JUST USE A TEMPLATE THAT PROVIDED, IF U USE UR OWN START ASSY, THEN CREATE START ASSY WITH A TEMPLATE AND AFTER MAKING REQUIRED CHANGES, SAVE IT AS UR OWN START PART. BCOZ SOME TIMES SOME PEOPLE MISS THE Z DIRECTION AS IN TEMPLATE, BCOZ OF THIS WINDOW DIDNT WORK. IF ITS NOT HELPING, SEND ME THE PART

why we need a template? for example, if u start a new part file with empty (u can say scratch) first u need to create datum planes, then may ur company has some specific perameters put in every part like name, number, catagory, version, revision and so on. In designing phase, u need to oreint ur part by standard views, a lot of times. May u need to create some layers in all or some of ur parts. LIke this, every one or every company needs some special things for its projects. u can also find standard template in every CAD system. But those are for general porpose. To solve these problems, every one must create some templates for not only CAD files, but word docs, excel spread sheets, Powerpoint presentations and html programs. The main porpose to create templates is to save time. U must not to create same entities in every file. Thats why we use the template. In pro/e, these template has a new terminology "start parts". Just start with a template, make necessory changes and save it at a central location. In Tools menu, go to options and for option "template_solidpart" define the path of part template. Same for each type of file.
