Measure exterior surface area

Hi Folks,

I need to measure the exterior surface area of a complex ductwork to determine the area that needs to be painted.

Is there any way to do this easily? I know the mass properties will give me surface area when I select the assembly, but that surface area I assume is the total surface area of all the components added together. The ductwork I'm conerned with has an inner and outer skin and baffles for water cooling and if the mass properties consider all those components then the surface area will betoo big by a large amount as a majority of those components won't be painted.

The only way I can think of to get what I need is to select each surface individually and add up the value and that is WAY too time consuming....

Any thoughts?

TIA
