I was wondering if anyone might know how to link a parameter in an assembly file to a parameter in a part file?
What I really want to do is this: the machines I build come in different heights and there are a lot of parts that contribute to the height of the machine, so what I would like to do is change a (height parameter) in the machine assembly that would consequently change the height of the parts in that assembly that have that linked variable.
Thank you,
Leo

If you have Pro/Notebook in your Pro/e license, you can create thecontrolling parameter in a layout. Then you declare both the assembly and the part to the layout, and they will share the parameter.

There are other ways to do this without notebook, such as input statements and spreadsheets, but Idon't know thedetails of this. Plus there are many third party apps that can help you do what you want to do as well, but for a substantial

price.

Thank you FishNut. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Ya, I don't have pro/e Notebook, and I kind of figured it to be a task that I just don't have the capabilty to do. O-well... I will find a way around it, I usually do.

Very grateful,
