Installing W3 error

Hi all,


When l have been trying to install W3 l keep getting the error message "ptc9C_tmp.exe". This happens after l have selected the drive for the program to instal onto.Then everything shuts down? I have also got ""ptc9A_tmp.exe" & "ptc9E_tmp.exe". W2 installs without any trouble.

What OS are you trying to install on? Do you have administrator rights on the target machine?

Windows 2000 & yes l have admin rights on the target machine.

Are you installing from CD/DVD/network?

This can be due to lack of space to run the temporary files for installation. Do you have you TEMP directory in disk C:\? See if you are running short on free disk space.

I'm installing from CD on the machine.


I have also made some more space on both C & D drive but still having the same issue?

Try installing on another machine. Then copy the entire Pro/E folder to the target machine and rerun ptcsetup.bat.

Nice idea with copying the file from another machine.


Have done that and that worked OK.


Only issue l have now is loading the Flexlm. As l understand you need to load the new version for WF3 and l have the same error problem.


Tried copying that from another machine but it doesn't work.
