I want to drag components in an asmbly...

To move the component, depress CRTL & ALT and then RMB and drag

To rotate the component, depress CRTL & ALT and then MMB (Roller)and spin

I hope I'm not stating the obvious, but shouldn't that be CTRL & ALTand LMB to drag?

RMB will bring up the component selection tools (ie next, previous, pick from list.)

AHA, AHA...

My mistake was this... I selected the part before depressing CTRL, ALT & RMB!

Roto,

if you select the part first (which i tend to do) then you can use LMB but not selecting the part you can use RMB.

now that we're through with this thread, I want to ask about Dragging.

I have two windows. One window is the front view. The other is the right view.

I set them side by side.

I activate the front view and drag a component so it moves up (or down).

The right view does not reflect the same motion in real time. I want it to.

I don't think ProE can do that. Please share your thoughts.

Don't think so Trillicomm,

Only the active window can be manipulated. ProE/Windoze effectively suspends all other windows until they are re-activated by the user (its all to do with your processor, as I understand it)

EDIT

Actually the man to ask this question to is looslib (ben loosli). He is a legend at this sort of stuff

I'm checking for clearances for a 5-axis machine. The part sits on a fixture (assembly) and the toolpath moves all over. So the front window can not show the right side of the motion as I drag the tooling holder in many directions.

If I can drag in one view and it drag other views in real time (without activating and regen the wanted view), that will help the clearance check.

WF3 has real time collision check. But I want is simultaneous windows (views)
