How to replace Datum Plane with phantom line

I have a datum plane in a my model for a PCB frontpanel that represents the component side of the circuit board. How can I create a draft entity phantom line that is tied to this datum?

#Insert #draft plane sort of gets me there but doesn't let me define the line type as phantom or centerline. Also, I'd prefer to just show the phantom line the length of the view and lable it with a note and leader than the very limited name you are stuck with for a draft plane.

Yes, datum curves work well. Modify>Line Style in the model will change the font of a datum curve. If you have a view where the datum curve is hidden and the view display is set to hidden, the curve will not display. You then have to use View>Display Mode>Edge Display or move the line to where it shows in the view.
