Hi,
I recently upgraded from CreoElements to Creo 2. I have a
machine with a non-OpenGL graphics card, which I realise
is a no-no, but it worked flawlessly with CreoElements,
and subsequent versions. The actual card is an ATI Radeon
mobility 5165.
The problem is when I open an assembly, or open a new
window from an assembly, about 1/3 of the screen has a
crasy motion-blur effect. See the image below. Sometimes
that area is also black and doesn't refresh. It varies.
I have found a work-around, but it requires me to do it
every time I open a new part/assembly. What I do is go
into the 'entity display' menu, and change the anti-
aliasing settings. The strange thing is that it doesn't
matter what you set them to, or even if you set it back
to what it was when you started up. The mere act of
changing the setting temporarily fixes the issue.
I called the tech support our distributor offers, but he
wasn't able to find a solution. Changing the cofig
'use_software_opengl' to 'yes' did get rid of the issue,
but it also made the display freeze whenever a feature
was pre-highligted, so that's not really a useable fix. I
assume the problem there is that the card is not OpenGL
capable.
Anyway, I know I need to upgrade to a more suitable
machine (it is on the cards in 6 months maybe) but for
now it's really frustrating to know it's capable of
displaying perfectly, except for this little issue.
Any words of wisdom would be thoroughly appreciated!
Cheers,
