Geforce 9800GTX

Hi
Does anybody know what should I do to make my graphics card (Asus Nvidia 7800GTX) to work with ProEngineer? It a brand new powerful and expensive graphics card and it works worse than my previous 6600.

Neverthelese, from nVidia's viewpoint


gForce cards are typically gamming cards


quadro cards are typically workstation (CAD,CAM,CAE,FEA,DCC) cards


CAD software can run on gForce cards and vice vs.


Basically your CAD softwares run on the OpenGL format, PC games utlize more ActiveX format (althoughcertain features of both can utilize either of these formats and others) example: Wildcat cards (High end CAD card), even today do not support the lastest revision of ActiveX


I have done both, ran games on CAD cards and ran CAD on gamming cards.


Take Isair's solution on your other identical post


The driver is no more than software telling your hardware what to do.


Different drivers will make your card react differentlly.


Also, look into how to optimize the OpenGL settings for your card.
