Please help me with the following error i got in Pro/E when I import a .ibl file to draw a curve.

Error "Bad data in IBL file".

FYI: The .ibl file I am importing is about 57000 lines. Each line has 3 columns (x,y,z).

Any help is appreciated!! I don't know what cause the error...

I figured that it was not the file size problem. However, it was the "Headings" (eg. Open Pointwise Begin Section Begin Curve) that causing the problems. Does anyone know where I can find proper "Headings" for IBL file to work for Pro E?

you can bring the data in as points if you have an ibl file in this format

10 20 30
40 50 60
70 80 90

etc no header or footer, with spacer delimiter
then insert datum points > offset coord sys
& import file

then insert curve through points

in my last example should mention that the type was cartesian and if you don't want the dims showing then check the 'use non parametric array,

btw, there might be a limit on the number of points to import that's something i didn't check
