Does anyone have a CAD File Naming Spec?

I need to write a CAD file naming spec for my company. Does anyone have a spec document that they would be willing to share with me? I'd like to see an example so I can make mine as professional as possible. Thanks.

For standard parts I use
standard-standard_name, e.g. din912-m8x30. Dont know about american standards, but I think it will work there too.
for bought parts
manufacturer-manufacturers name, e.g. festo-grla3_4
These names are unique and you dont have to worry about different parts with the same name.
for manufacturerd parts i use the drawing number.

Intelligent numbers or dumb numbers? Intelligent numbers are nice, but have limitations depending on how many digits you plan to use. Dumb numbers are just that unless your using a vault of somekind to where you set attributes to each number to ease searching. The size of your number may also be limited by programs used by other departments like supply chain. Are you using support models and/orfamily tables?

We have established a part numbering system already. I just want to look at a spec document that someone has written. I am more interested in the document that the part numbering system. Hey I'm an engineer not a technical writer.
