Dimensioning sketch entities?

SWDADA

New member
when creating a sketch, PRO/E seems to add dimesions automatically, adding weak dimensions where it wants. I know I can make them strong to fully define the sketch but I want to change the dimension references. I don't know how to accomplish this. In solidworks you can put dimensions on any entities you want within the sketch, referencing any parts of the sketch, but pro/e seems to give me no control over thsi!

Hi,

In ProE, you either add dimensions where you want, and the weak ones will go away, or, if you like a weak one, and want to make it strong, right-click and click strong. You should not leave any weak dimensions in the sketch.

thanks for your answer, however it's not fully answered. how do you place dimensions where you want them?

There is a dimension icon on the sketcher tools palete. To create a dimensionselect your referencesand MMB to place the dimension.

Sorry, middle mouse button. So for instance if you want to dimension a line select the line and press the middle mouse button to create a dimension.
