I have proengineer student edition 2001 and i recently upgraded from windows ME to windows XP and my pro-e does no longer work, is there a patch needed for the xp upgrade?

This can occur if the operating system is not a fresh installation but upgraded from Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows ME.

Windows 95 and 98, & ME uses an environment variable called winbootdir to point to the Windows loadpoint. This variable is not used in Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.

Remove the winbootdir environment variable.

Under #Control Panel #System #Advanced #Environment Variables, select the environment variable winbootdir from the System Variables section and #Delete.
