When
we do a Insert->New Component in a CATProduct, it refers to the
CATProduct.But when we do a Insert->New Part in a CATProduct,it
refers to the part(as the case should be)?

So, you are not alone, i find it also confusing! As i understand it, a component can be either a part or a product. When you insert an existing component you can choose both. Then why the hell they have INSERT NEW COMPONENT and INSERT NEW PRODUCT. Do not have a clue. If someone else has a better explanantion, go for it.
