Diameters instead of Radii

Does anybody know of a quick and easy way to dimension radii as diameters?


Dimensions in drawings and arcs in sketches default to the radius, and we sometimes use get araounds like using a linear dimension tangent to sides or redefining the sketch - but there must be an easiear way.

one click on the arc or circle gives you a radii.


two clicks on an arc or circle gives you a diameter.


clicking on a line, a centerline and the line again gives an axisymetric diameter.

Once you have a diametrical dimension displayed, you can highlight the dimension and choose "toggle type". This changes the diametrical dimension to a linear dimension. This is a little flaky because it flips the dimension to be where the diametrical dimension was displayed. Change the diametrical dimension to be horizontal or vertical and the dimension will flip to how you want it displayed. You can also use points and a centerline in your sketch and dimension to the points to show the dimension as a linear dimension.


There are times you have a revolved section and want to show diametrical values. You can create sketcher dimensions as diametrical dimensions. To achieve this, you choose a centerline, your geometry and the centerline again.
