dATUM POINTS FOR C OF G

biff

New member
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT i AM DOING WRONG PLEASE?

I want tocreate a datum point for the c of g in an assembly which is driven by relations.

I have been told to use the following info

$d2=mp_cg_x(,prt_csys_def,)

$d3=mp_cg_y(,prt_csys_def,)

$d4=mp_cg_z(,prt_csys_def,)

I know I have to change the csys, but what else beside this and the d value do i change?

No, I have used the relations above in parts without any trouble.

However they do not appear to work in an assembly.

so i must be doing something wrong.

The last set of defines the path to the coordinate system you want to use for the calculation, if it's empty then the path is to the current assembly.

prt_csys_def doesn't exist in your current assembly does it ???

Create the Csys in the assy and reference the assy Csys. I would guess if you wanted to reference a part Csys in the assy, you would have to use:

$d2=mp_cg_x:2(,prt_csys_def,)

you wanted to reference a part Csys in the assy, you would have to use:

No, the syntax is:

d2=mp_cg_x(,prt_csys_def,123456.prt)

where prt_csys_def would be in 123456.prt
