DATA TRANSLATION from 2001 to 2000i2

Is there a way to take data from Pro-E 2001 and save the file so that it can be read into Pro-E 2000i2 other that step or iges and keep the native associativity?

I have tried this conversion and have reached the conclusion of failure.
