Data Management in ProE

Hey, perhaps you can help me.

I am trying to use this tip:
http://www.synthx.com/tom/sy_tip_0206.htm

But I get stuck because, the default parameter type is real, so if the parameter was not previously defined as a string (e.g. for a parameter like material or description) it does not work - it only allows numbers.

Is there any other way to get a similar result to the tip?

Basically I have a lot of legacy filesWITHOUT parameters like revision, part_number etc... and it would take too long to open every single one and define the parameters.

Thanks for the info.

Don't have intralink, never thought I would miss it. :)

I am having a go with modelcheck, trying to figure out how to only add/change the parameters if they are not already there.

BTW
<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
The PTC help is only useful as a reference if you have already figured out how to do things, and just want a reference. When I tried talking to the re-seller all I got were suggestions to purchase training.

By far the best tutorial I have found is:
http://www.profilesmagazine.com/p31/cover.html
If you know of any resources please let me know.
