created a drawing from part now deleted

New member
created a drawing from part A. Later decided not to use that part, so deleted views and inserted new views of a different part B. However, deleting the old views did not remove the part A from the drawing. That is, there is nothing in the drawing that references the old part A, but the file still references that part. Where is it? how do I remove the association to the old part?

...should started with a new sheet, but I wanted to keep all the notes.

Thanks in advance,

While opening the drawing next time check for references,
if it showing Part A, then change it to part B and open....

Hope this solves your problem.

Hi Guru,

I went to file>find references, and Part A shows up. How do I change it to Part B? The window only has the following buttons: Print, copy list, copy files, close, and help.

I also tried to file>properties and right clicking icons in the left pane, but no commands that look promising.

Using SW2010 SP3.1

If you observe correctly, there will be current path name
and new path name..

current pathname is one which is being referenced now,
New path name is the one which can be changed...

click new pathname and select Part B.

But you will have to dimension everything all over again.
