Cork screw

Hi,

I'm trying to model the screw part of a cork screw, i understand the best way to do this is using the helical sweep, however i'm not entirely sure how this function works and i can't seem to find any in-depth tutorials on the matter. Also how would i add the sharpening point to one end of the sweep?

Any info on tutorials or how to create the sweep would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Charlie

u know a corkscrew is just a fancy spring which doesnt compress:)

least in geometry.. but not in functionality

look @ some of the files u can download of springs.

the ones with hooked ends.

then simply change the pitch and endings. one to a spike and the other to some part that then extends to a handle

not to hard once u have the model of a spring with nice rounded endings.

hope this helps
