config & start file locations

I recently had wf3 sucessfully installed on my notebook (Dell M65) and need to know the locations for the config.pro and config.win files so they load at start up. Also, what would be the best location for the start part and start assembly files.


Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

you should locate this files in working directory.

Confi.pro and config.win can be in your start in directory as defined by the windows shortcut to launch Pro/E. If you open Pro/E by clicking on part/assembly/drawing filenames, then they need to be in EACH folder that you have Pro/E files in.


Start files can be in any folder that is defined by the start_model_dir config.pro setting and the template_solidpart, template_designasm and template_sheetmetalpart settings.

The start files should be placed in a read only folder

In stead of having config.pro and config.win in many folders you can store then in ...Proewildfire3/text folder. Then they will be loadet every time you start Proe. Just remember to make a secure copy of the files behore making a software update.
