Component display issue with cross section

Hello,

I have a component in a large assembly that displays fine (no hidden lines, tangent lines dimmed) normally, but when I show a cross section (that doesn't intersect the component at all) the component displays as wireframe and I can't change it?? Any ideas or thoughts?
I've tried excluding this component from the cross section (even though it's untouched) to no avail.

I am working in Creo 2

maybe this will help....keep in mind the cross section doesn't even touch the model that's changing it's display style.

model with cross section is capture1.jpg
model without cross section is capture2.jpg

if the item that is showing was made with quilts you might try checking the include quilts box during the creation of the section. if you edit your section its at the bottom of the models tab.

Remember you have to remove the section from the view before you check the box - it's grayed out otherwise.
